This fun hiking tutorial was designed and built by a five member team in a graduate instructional design course at Cal State Fullerton.  Our group, selected the topic, researched the content, planned and developed storyboards and a style sheet, and then developed and evaluated iteratively (See Successive Approximate Model SAM1) to complete a working beta-version. The time to completion, from ideation to finished beta, was approximately 8 weeks. We collaborated remotely using Google docs and Zoom. The tutorial's objectives included selecting an appropriate hike, identifying essential hiking supplies, and recognizing and preparing for safety hazards. The tutorial content addressed the informational needs of beginning and novice hikers. For my contribution to the tutorial, I created the content and graphics for the Location module. At the end of the module, I included a practice problem in the form of a click-reveal knowledge check to enhance learner engagement.
