Thomas and Brannan West (TBW) provides web refresh services for clients throughout North America. TBW wanted to reduce time spent qualifying leads.

Solution: We used a multi-solution approach to creating a more efficient and accurate method for screening clients.

  • Intake form that screened out unqualified leads before the proposal process began.

  • Template that facilitated quick proposal turnaround.

  • Flexible pricing structure that addressed client price objections by adding premium services as "wish list" items. The flex-pricing and template format encouraged client involvement in the proposal process. It offered more choices, and created a structure that clients used to prioritize their service needs.

  • Explainer video to engage potential clients around needs evaluation and the services that TBW offered.

Results: Less time spent on unqualified leads. Faster creation of sales proposals for clients in the target budget range. Retention of prospective clients with lower budgets who now have a road map for purchasing additional services as their budgets grow.

Thomas & Brannan West: Streamlining the Sales Intake Process to Increase Lead Qualifying Accuracy

TBW Case Study

Dixie Piano Studios (DPS) opened in 1991 on Spokane’s South Hill and quickly expanded to a second location at Fairchild Air Force Base. After 20 years, the studio at Fairchild closed due to base policy changes. DPS wanted to expand enrollment at the South Hill studio location.

Solution:  We conducted a market analysis of local piano studios and estimated the size of the potential customer base with school-aged children in the greater Spokane area. We recommended pricing and policy adjustments to improve cash flow. We updated the existing website created by KDA in 2014 to ensure the studio's web presence remained competitive and easily found by Millennial parents. The website appeals to parents of school-age children and reflects Dixie’s creativity, teaching excellence, and dedication to her students. We continue to regularly update the website to reflect studio changes and to optimize web copy.

Result: The DPS website consistently ranks high in Google search with strong seasonal web traffic and high visitor conversion from website and Google My Business. DPS enrollment grew 60% in two years after website updates, not including students that transferred from the Fairchild studio location.

Inner Fire Productions: Using Qualitative Research to Deepen Message and Expand Funding Options for Documentary Film

Take Me Home 1.png

Inner Fire Productions (IFP) is a documentary film production company dedicated to making films for social impact. In 2011, IFP completed the film short Take Me Home: The Birth of An American Family. The producer/director wanted to explore funding and distribution options.

Solution: We began by exploring funding options, and then dove into the research to position the film for its intended audience. This required several lengthy steps completed over a period of two years as the project matured.

  • Reviewed similar documentary projects.

  • Conducted funding research for production and distribution.

  • Conducted extensive literature review on gay parenthood for proposal background and project context.

  • Consulted on proposal messaging to obtain nonprofit umbrella status.

  • Condensed and synthesized production notes, proposal drafts, and research to provide recommendations and assistance with funding proposal development.

  • Developed a funding proposal.

Results: The project obtained 501(c)(3) sponsorship by the Santa Barbara Gay and Lesbian Business Association.

Take Me Home debuted at the 2013 OUTrageous Film Festival in Santa Barbara, CA in to positive reviews.
